Minutes of Board Meeting

Carson Bridge Club
Present: Gary Nitzberg, Paul Jorgensen, Paul Pugsley, Cheryl Kinder, John Sill and Carole Sill
Absent: Nick Pchelkin
President Gary Nitzberg called the meeting to order at 11:28 a.m.
Minutes: The minutes from the February Unit Board meeting were approved.
Financial Report: Approved as presented.
Old Business:
Nonprofit incorporation form to be filled by May 2009 for a cost of $25.
Bob Garrett brought 300 Oct. Sectional fliers. He will distribute an additional 200 fliers at the various tournaments he attends in District 21.
MSC that the Unit purchase new bidding box cards for 24 tables at a cost of $12/table ($288 total) plus freight. The number to be purchased was lowered due to the increase in cost.
New Business:
Paul J. distributed a spreadsheet showing how the Unit benefited from supporting advertising for bridge lessons offered to beginners.
Bob Garrett reported on the District 21 Board meeting held Feb. 15, 2009 in Burlingame CA.
MSC that the Unit run a ¼ page ad in the Aug and Sept issues of the Forum advertising the October Sectional at a cost of $90/issue.
The next Unit Board meeting will be held April 4, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at the Carson Bridge Club.
MSC that the meeting be adjourned at 12:25 p.m.
