President Nick Pchelkin called the meeting to order at 4:40 p.m.
Minutes: The minutes from the December 2009 Board meeting were approved.
Financial Report: Approved as presented. MSC that the Unit add $34 to the $66 collected from the Charity Unit games held in 2009 for a total of $100. MSC that the $100 be donated to Food for Thought. John informed the Board that Imperial Bank has been taken over by City National Bank.
Old Business:
John will have the filing of the 990 form done by February.
Dates for the October Sectional are Oct. 7-10, 2010. MSC that a deposit, not to exceed $500, be paid to the Plaza Hotel for the room for the Sectional. It was decided to drop the compact knockouts and hold 3 days of pairs games and one day of Swiss Team games. The flyer will be ready for printing by the Feb. meeting.
A disciplinary committee will be chosen prior to the tournament to handle any complaints that arise.
New Business:
Discussion was held on the 2010 Unit Game Schedule. ACBL allows a Unit to hold 24 Unit games per year. The Unit will hold eleven of these games. The individual clubs may offer the remaining 13. Clubs may hold a Unit game during any regularly scheduled game. Club owners must contact Paul to schedule and sanction these games. Once the schedule has been finalized, it will be posted on the website.
MSC that Nick Pchelkin and Bob Garret be the official representatives for Unit 465 at the District 21 Board meetings. Gary Nitzberg to be the alternate.
MSC that the meeting be adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
The next Unit Board meeting will be held Feb. 6, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at the Carson Bridge Center.
